PURPOSE OF THE PERSONAL CARE SERVICES
The purpose of the personal care services is to enable an indiviual, of all ages, whose needs would otherwise result in placement in an acute care hospital or nursing facility or loss of that individual's employment solely related to activities of daily living (ADL) to remain at home or prevent job loss. Tasks performed by the Personal Care Assistant is to assist an individual in the following a plan of health care designed to improve, or delay deterioration of an individual's physical health. Personal care services are health-related services provided to Medicaid consumers whose disability limits their ability to perform activities of daily living.
